Sylvain Martinez
Loire Valley, France
Sylvain Martinez started producing wines in very limited quantities in 2006 while employed at the renowned Anjou winery of Olivier Cousin. He worked closely with Olivier for over a decade, gaining a deep understanding of viticulture and the dance of working in harmony with nature. He currently cultivates Chenin Blanc, Pineau d’Aunis, Gamay, and Grolleau grapes. In 2016, Martinez purchased the ancient cellar of l’Abbaye de Saint-Maur situated on the right bank of the Loire River between Saumur and Angers. He is dedicated to preserving and modernizing this historic winery.
‘RosaBul’ is a sparkling rosé of Pineau d’Aunis; this cuvée is berry-forward with soft notes of pepper and rhubarb. ‘Corbeau’ is a juicy and slightly spicy red wine made from the Loire grape Grolleau.
