Piquenique Wines
San Juan Islands, Washington
Niccolo Coturri and Tess Bryant are the dynamic winemaking duo behind Piquenique Wines. In 2019, this couple relocated to the San Juan Islands, situated off the coast of northern Washington State. In this remote northwestern corner of the United States, they discovered a burgeoning, largely undiscovered wine region blessed with a favorable climate, heirloom fruit varieties, and a rich history of fruit cultivation. Piquenique creates wines, ciders, and hybrid fermented beverages, celebrating the range of fruits cultivated in the area over the past 150 years, including apples, pears, plums, quince, blackberries, medlars, and grapes.
The experimental wines crafted by Niccolo & Tess are perfect to enjoy in any season, at any time, and anywhere. If you're new to the world of fruit wine, 'Blue Moon' is an excellent starting point. It's a bone-dry slightly funky apple wine with wonderful acidity and delicate bubbles.
